We have been privileged to host a team from the National BGMC (Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge) Dept. of the Assemblies of God. David and Mary Boyd are director and coordinator of BGMC and their desire is to see every church teaching children about overseas outreach.
BGMC has a twofold purpose: (1) instilling a heart of compassion in kids through inspiring them to pray, give, and go; and (2) reaching the children of the world through meeting critical needs, such as food, health care, water wells, Bibles, Bible schools, curriculum, and whatever else our workers need in their part of the world. Also accompanying the Boyds were Pastor Bob Aston, National A/G Children's Ministry missionary and Children's Pastor Brian Hendrickson from Bethel Church in Temple, Texas.
We had over 375 participants for the three day children's ministry conference. They came from over 20 different denominations. The team really blessed our Rwandan Children's workers and Pastors with great ideas on preaching to children through puppets, drama, role play, characters, and games. They also offered encouragment in the whys of leading children to Jesus. Patrick spoke the last day on leading children in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and afterwards there was a great time of prayer that the Lord to use us all to reach the children of Rwanda.
Before we released everyone to leave, the Boyds and BGMC had a great surprise! Every conference participant was given their own bird puppet to use in their children's ministry just as thery had been taught.
Thank you team and thank you BGMC!
